I hammer on copper sheets, a medium that suits me, since I have been using hammers all my life. There is something compelling and mysterious in using just a hammer to shape metal. With skill, knowledge, and patience, a fat copper sheet can become almost any form.

Directions: From McMinnville, take Hwy 18 west to the Dairy Queen and turn right onto Gopher Valley Rd. Drive about 7 miles to the end of the pavement and turn left onto Thompson Mill Rd. Drive about 2.5 miles to the top of the ridge intersection with Rock Creek Rd. Our house is on the left, the only one you will see.

From Sheridan, come up to the top of Rock Creek Rd. (off of the Sheridan/Willamina Business Loop) for about 9 miles—the last 2 miles on gravel—keep coming down the hill and you will see the house on the right, before Thompson Mill Rd.
