ART HARVEST STUDIO
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
During the 2025-2026 academic year, 12 students from the McMinnville High School Advanced Art Placement Program were matched with 5 Art Harvest Studio Tour (AHST) Artists who served as mentor instructors. They opened their studios, providing lessons and demonstrations in their chosen art media while guiding these aspiring artists through specific projects.
Students have an opportunity to understand what it takes to be a professional artist, including – art supplies, inventory, production skills, techniques, art principles, and exhibiting. They receive a stipend for supplies with lessons on expenses and budgeting. They keep track of their studio hours, projects and supplies, while recording notes on their creative process. This program has been a great experience for mentors and students and reflects the AHST's commitment of supporting community art education.
The studio tour art mentor program has been a great experience for the AP art students – it contributes to their understanding of the art profession and the role of the artist in our community.
